MSI Confirms Plans for Nvidia Tegra-Based eReader in 2010 [EReaders]
That rumor about an MSI eReader looks good-to-go: their chairman acknowledges a reader with Tegra graphics is coming, but they’re ironing out some problems at the moment. Meanwhile, Asus also has some some cool-sounding readers in the works. [DigiTimes]
Citizen CrunchDeals: 10-foot HDMI cable for 74 cents plus $2.95 shipping
CrunchGear reader Steve Jabs seems like a reasonable and trustworthy guy. Patient, too, as he’s been reading the site for quite some time now and clearly hasn’t removed our feed from his RSS reader in a fit of rage over one of the many half-assedly researched and grammatically baffling posts that have graced these virtual pages for so many years.
Steve alerts us to a ten-foot HDMI cable deal on Amazon: 74 cents, plus $2.95 for shipping. That’s a grand total of $3.69 – much cheaper than, say, the nine-foot cable that Best Buy sells for $19.
And if I may add something to Jabsie’s deal, I’d point out that if you can make-do with a six-foot HDMI cable, you can get one of those on Amazon for just a penny, plus $2.98 for shipping.
And while even less expensive HDMI cables may exist somewhere out there, the moral of the story is: there’s no need to overpay for HDMI cables — Jabs tested, Aamoth approved.

Thanks for sending this in, Steve.

Rumor: Taiwanese Manufacturer Foxconn Will Ship Apple’s Tablet

The latest rumor about Apple’s touchscreen tablet is that Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn is assembling and shipping the product.
Corroborating previous rumor reports about the tablet, sources told DigiTimes the device will sport a 10.6-inch display and focus on e-book functionality. Initial shipments of the device, scheduled for the first quarter of 2010, will be approximately 300,000 to 400,000 units, the sources said.
It comes as no surprise if the manufacturer handling the tablet is Foxconn: The same company, located in China, makes Apple’s iPhones.
Wired.com recently compiled a roundup of every plausible rumor we’ve heard about the tablet. Check that out if you need to catch up.
