Lamp No. 4
I love the name. Lamp No. 4 brings water and light together to create an ever-changing glow. Vibrating the string creates ripples of light that keep the space tranquil and relaxing. The contrast between the tension in the base and the softness of the H2O filter is something only bare walls could appreciate.

IKEA becomes the first major retailer to stop selling incandescent light bulbs
Remember The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 which mandated that all US retailers must stop selling incandescent bulbs by 2012? If you don’t, you’re apparently not alone, since according to a lighting survey conducted for IKEA back in 2010, 61% of Americans weren’t aware of the legislation either. Luckily for those not in the know, IKEA was kind enough to remind the world of the upcoming change by proudly announcing that they’ve stopped selling the power-sucking bulbs a whole year early — making them the first retailer in the US to comply with the bill. To help customers deal with the switch the furniture giant will sell visitors compact fluorescent and halogen bulbs — in addition to LED lamps. That’s seems like smart business considering the same lighting survey says 67% of Americans care about using energy saving lights, while 81% say using more efficient lights is a good environmental practice. So much for incandescent bulbs making a comeback eh?

Lights Above, Lights Below
Where do you have all of your lamps? Above? To the side? All around? How about you get some lamps that sit on the ground and some other lamps that sit above your head? How about a collection of lamps that works in basically any position? Take a look at this “7/7 Lights” lamp collection by Albertine van Iterson. Each lamp is made out of its own materials, has its own identity, and require slightly different treatments. Yet at the same time, they’re all part of the same family.
How you interact with this set of lamps is entirely up to you. Get a bunch of the wood ones and let them all fly above your head. Get a few metal lamps and lie them around your lovely wood-floored no-cat apartment. Or get them all, all the different sorts of lamps in the 7/7 Lights series, place them all around your huge house!
It’s a lamp family.

The Solar Pebble is a solar powered lamp targeted for use in rural Africa, as a humanitarian product, and at home in the UK as the perfect gift. The LED Solar Pebble is powered by batteries that are charged from the sun via a small, efficient solar panel. It can also charge mobile phones and other devices. The versatile ratchet handle allows the product to be carried and angled when standing or suspended. On the go? Just strap it onto a backpack for daytime charging.

Crank Up Some Lights This Time
You do recollect the Crank Up Battery, right? Close on heels to that concept is this Eco – Twinkle Light. Just like how you would crank up the battery or simply sharpen a pencil, you rotate Twinkle’s handle to charge it up. Twinkling fairy lights with loads of imaginary fairy dust, sparkle up this gem of an idea!
