Peek Email Device Launches In India

If you’re living in India and don’t have a decent portable email device, here’s a bit of good news for you. The email-toting (in fact, email-only) Peek will be offered on Aircel’s network and at a rather affordable price too. Apparently the Device will be going for Rs.2999 ($65), and the monthly service charge will be Rs.299 ($6). An official website has been set up too, so let’s kick back and see if this email-device kicks off in India.

Tokyoflash watch winners
We’d like to extend our thanks to those of you who have given generously to charity this year; three of those who did so, and who correctly answered a challenge, were selected by our pals at Tokyoflash to get a gift of their choice from their wonderful catalog of bizarre watches. Watch winner Thomas Smartwood donated to the Salvation Army and the public library in Des Moines; Sean Corbett donated to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and Chris Haigy donated to the Ali Forney Center in New York.

Lighted Wedding Dress

We couldn’t have been more clairvoyant to have hinted at an OLED wedding dress, and this comes close – e-Textile artist Alison Lewis came up with the Lighted Wedding Dress which she painstakingly created for a friend. The lighting component is located right under the skirt which in turn is hooked to a row of snaps to the interior of the dress, allowing one to turn the lighting feature on or off, depending on the situation. The fiber-optic fabric by Italy-based Luminex helps ensure a soft illumination complete with the customary twinkling effect to get your guests all starry-eyed. Just be prepared to carry the weight of four AAA batteries around with you while wearing this, though.

I don’t want to believe that either UPS or the U.S. Government are so stupid as to think that my Apple computer is actually an apple, but I can’t come up with any other explanation (and neither can people on Twitter). On my UPS tracking shipment screen right now all I see is “Exception” followed by a note that my iMac was held up in in Louisville, Kentucky because, “UPS HAS OBTAINED DOCUMENTATION AND SUBMITTED TO FOOD & DRUG ADMINISTRATION AND/OR DEPARTMENT OF AG/PPQ;AWAITING RESPONSE”
