Handles All Your Odd shaped adapters July 2, 2007 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Normally I don't review accessories such as these, but it really makes a huge difference with all the crazy different power adapters I have. If you think you don't, remember the chargers for your digital camera or NiMH AA charger.
Most modern compact battery chargers tend to fall out of most power sticks. For example, a AA charger or for your digital camera. Instead, you can angle them at 45 degrees so they will rest on the shelf or floor and not budge. Also, a portable wifi can also sit at an angle, rather than just popping out under its weight. The big adapters are additional supported by other cables that you may run horizontally. Check out the picture I posted to see what I mean.
Every other power stick would only have 1/3 of its plugs usable; not only that, but they would fall out too easily. Not with this belkin.
It actually handles a higher surge than many out there. I've simultaneously powered: my 17" Apple, 24" monitor, three externall hard drives, a monster stereo, a scanner, a printer, a wifi, an NiMH charger, and lithium battery charger, and even an electric razor. Works fanastic without a glitch.
Also shows you if its properly grounded and protected with indicator lights. Organizes wires and through a pop up loop. Protects the cable as well.
Only complaint: I wish the cord was maybe 5 feet longer. I hooked a high quality extension to it instead
ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! May 15, 2008 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Great for tight spaces and wall-mounted flat screen TVs. I ended up ordering three of these....two to put into my entertainment unit for the 52" lcd TV, DVD player, home theater unit, cable box, X-Box 360, powered subwoofer and Wii. The third went up on another wall behind a wall-mounted 32" flat screen TV...there is no other way to have a surge protector out of sight to protect your valuable electronics! Also, the pivoting outlets are GREAT to use for odd shaped and large plugs
Lots of outlets, some still too close together March 28, 2008 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
Amazon has a great deal on this compared to the brick and mortar office supply stores I visited and the number of outlets is a big feature, but, some of the outlets are simply still too close together. I ended up with 2 or 3 wasted outlets depending on what I have plugged in with this product.
Good value, but only buy if you need 8, not 12, plugs. November 8, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This Belkin surge protector is an excellent value for the dollar--Belkin products are on par with Monster, but Monster will cost 2-3x as much.
I originally purchased this surge protector for my home theater system, which I previously had on a Monster protector; however, I needed more plugs to solve a ground loop situation that I was incurring. After shopping around, I found Amazon had the best deal on this Belkin protector.
While solving the ground loop problem, I can confirm, much to my disappointment, that only eight of the twelve plugs are functional. The four plugs in the middle are unusable--I have tried several items, none of which will fit into those four plugs. All of them will go about halfway, then stop--trying to push the plug further in sounds like I am trying to push through plastic.
I have noticed that all of the plugs took a small amount of force to push the cord into; however, the eight pivot-plugs work fine. I had originally envisioned to only use eight plugs, then have an extra four for future use, but now that I am using all eight functional plugs, I am having second-thoughts about this purchase.
In summary, this is a good surge protector; however, only eight of the twelve plugs are functional--be aware of this prior to purchasing!
It has 12 outlets. November 5, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this to protect my new computer. It has 12 outlets and coaxial cable F-type connectors. The pivot plug on the outside are handy.
