Does The Apple Job Posting Hint At A Future LTE iPhone?

What could the future iPhone offer? Well, if Apple’s job posting is any indicator, there is a possibility of LTE connectivity. The job posting for a “Cellular Technology Software Manager” requires expert knowledge of WCDMA/UMTS, HSPA, HSPA+, and LTE technology. Of course, this is far from an official confirmation of such a feature, but it’s certainly interesting to consider that the next generation iPhone might support LTE, and nobody is going to complain is the phone supports faster data speeds, right?

Britain’s most advanced attack sub ever on sea trials

Known as Turtle, the world’s first military submarine appeared during the American War of Independence. It was 10 feet long, constructed of two wooden shells covered with tar, propelled by a one-person crew using hand-cranked propellers, had enough air for a 30 minute dive and its weapons were a drill, a keg of gunpowder and a time fuse. Fast forward 240-odd years to the British Navy’s Astute class submarine, which is currently undergoing sea trials, and you get a very different picture. Made up of a million individual components and capable of carrying 93 crew and an array of weapons including Tomahawk cruise missiles, the nuclear-powered Astute class is 97m long, weighs 7,800 tons, is coated in 39,000 sonar masking acoustic tiles and doesn’t need refueling throughout its expected 25 year service life…

iSkin Solo FX iPhone Case

Oh the ubiquity of the black iPhone case! Leather, pleather, rubber, plastic… I want something more fantastic!
Leave it to the geniuses of iSkin to give me the exciting cover my 3GS deserves! The iSkin Solo FX builds on the original Solo case by adding a designer pattern and a mirrored screen protector to the glossy case that gives you the look of a hard shell while offering the protection and gripability of a rubber skin. There is also a special edition of the FX that adds even more excitement to the texture and pattern.
The glamorous FX is made with Microban antimicrobial protection that inhibits the growth of all the nasty bacteria that tends to collects on one’s phone – another plus for me, the resident Popgadget germophobe. Color choices for the FX are Breeze (translucent blue), Lush (translucent green), Passion (translucent red), Sunset (translucent orange) and Vive (translucent purple). Like the perfect designer dress, the FX is low profile and cut out in all the right places (dock, camera, headphone jack, and ringer switch) while covering the essentials (volume and power controls). It’s also compatible with the iSkin revoClip for those that want fashion and dare I say i… functionality… in one.
Show your iPhone style with the FX (and your fear of germ… oh, nevermind, that’s my fear of germs).

Concept USB Cable Features Built-in Mini Hub

By Chris Scott Barr
When a person starts to run low on USB ports, usually the first thing they get is a hub of some sort. However, instead of adding three extra ports, why not just have one of your cables add a single port. Think of these as similar to a strand of Christmas lights. The ones that had an extra plug-in on top of the one you put into the wall.
These concept cables actually don’t sound like too bad of an idea. Unfortunately they’ll likely only work if you’re using a device which has a standard USB (mini, or micro as well) plug on the other end. I bet if they made an iPod/iPhone charging cable with that extra port, they’d make a fortune. No word on whether or not this concept will make it to store shelves.
